Orville Hubert Schultz's Obituary
Orville Hubert Schultz, 97, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015, after some recent health challenges at Lee Memorial Hospital. He was born June 15, 1918, in Mason City, Iowa, to the late Hubert G. and Jenny Schultz. Orville was a decorated Army veteran serving in WWII and Korea where he was awarded 3 Bronze Stars and was a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a retired Railroad Engineer with 37 years of service. Orville was an active member of The Crown of Life Lutheran Church of Fort Myers, an active member of NARVRE (National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees), President for many years of the Florida Chapter of NARVRE and an active member in C&NW Veterans of Florida (Chicago & North Western).In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Lis Schultz, (2011); a son, Jay Dean Schultz and a grandson, Gary Schultz, Jr.Orville is survived by his children, Anita Henriquez of Tampa, FL; Neal Schultz of Cape Coral, FL and Gary Schultz of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer Schultz-Alexander, Gabrielle Schultz, Christopher Henriquez and Kyle Henriquez. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5pm – 7pm Friday, August 28, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL. Funeral Ceremony will be 11:30am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Crown of Life Lutheran Church 5820 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL. Interment will be Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Sarasota National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 5820 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33912.
