Patricia Ann Barley's Obituary
Patricia Ann Barley, 75, passed away December 6, 2011.?áShe was born October 10, 1936 in Fort Myers, Florida to the late, Joseph Ernest and Rheta Mae (Peters) McGill. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Myers, former Lieutenant in the Salvation Army, co-founder of Mission Partners which was a ministry of Riverside Baptist Church.?áShe was the family historian, avid reader and loved to study and teach the Word of God.?áHer grandchildren called her the wisest woman they know.?áPat was also a church secretary for 14 years and ran a catering business. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joe; son Shelton; sister, Teresa; brother, Joe; and granddaughter, Joy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles and his wife Donna Barley of Cape Coral, Rebecca and her husband Bill VanHelden of North Fort Myers, Joseph and his wife Sandy Barley of Alva, Rheta and her husband Danny Gould of Fort Myers and Warren and his wife Carolyn Barley of Columbia, Tennessee; brother, Gerald and his wife Barbara McGill of Cape Coral; sisters, Hellon and her husband Ken Merrifield of Estero and Donna and her husband Don Smith of Maryland; grandchildren, Travis, Casey, Billy, Joey, Richmond, Andrew, Blake, Caroline, Caleb, Amy, Brett and Trevor; and one great-grandson, Jay Alan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lotie Moon Christmas Offering c/o Riverside Church, 8660 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers, Florida. ?á There will be a visitation on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Riverside Church.?áFuneral will begin at 2:00 with entombment will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
