Patricia Helen Currie (Higgins), 78, of Fort Myers FL, formerly of Walpole MA, passed away April 24, 2019.Patricia (Pat) passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ron and their children Paul Currie of Fort Myers FL, Jimmy Currie of Orlando FL, Billy Currie of Clinton MA and Tricia Currie Collins of Mansfield MA. She was predeceased by her son Tommy Currie of Attleboro MA. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren and great grandmother of 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Richard Higgins of Provincetown and predeceased by her brother John Higgins of Jamaica Plain MA and Robert Higgins of Long Island NY. A beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.Pat was born and raised in Jamaica Plain MA to Patrick and Helen Higgins. After marrying Ron in 1959, they moved to Walpole MA where she was a dedicated wife and mother to 5 children. After 30 years of raising children and working hard, it was time for Pat and Ron to retire and enjoy their golden years, traveling in their motorhome around the country and seeing many parts of the world. They settled down in Fort Myers in 1998 where they have resided ever since. Pat enjoyed playing tennis, golf, learning how to paint, social gatherings, hiding eggs for the charity Easter egg hunt, antics in the swimming pool with her grandchildren and having her children and grandchildren down for frequent visits.Immediate funeral ceremonies are private.
