Pat was born and raised in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Dorothy and William Cook. She played piano by ear for church and choir, and later the organ at home and for Christmas parties. The couple loved living on the Peace River and being a part of the Punta Gorda Boat Club and sailing or boating on the river and to the Caribbean. A socialite at heart, she was well known to many who loved her as they hosted many dinner parties, happy hours, where she tried new hor d’oeuvres, everyone said she was a good cook. She was an ardent and vivacious storyteller who was blessed with many lasting friendships. She enjoyed working in the flower and vegetable gardens, knitted, crocheted, and created many cross stitch and crewel pictures. She used her skills in the kitchen to make her famous apple dumplings, among other treats.
Pat and George moved to Heritage Oak Park as one of the “original” homeowners, and became active including the computer club, enjoyed duplicate bridge and hosted happy hours and dinner parties with their new friends in the park.
