I only just heard the sorrowful news of Mrs. Kujawa's death. I remember her well, although I was only 15 when I met her and her husband Stan and that was 23 years ago. I was fortunate be invited into their home on Old Mill Road in Findlay, Ohio on several occasions when I was a student at St. Michael's School and friends with their daughters Kortney and Betsy and their niece Melissa. Both Pat and Stan were always exceptionally welcoming and kind to me, as they were to every one. They has class, which in Findlay was not too common. There was always a feeling of joy and love in their household and it is an understatement to say that Pat was a wonderful mother- strict but with love. And that laugh. She had a beautiful laugh. I am thankful to have known her and so very sorry for Mr. Kujawa, her children, grandchildren and friends. Nicolas MeyerNew York, NY

Dear Stan and family, I was stunned and heartsick to read of Pat's passing in yesterday's Blade. I am out of town so am unable to get to the service but I cannot shake thinking about Pat and all that she was.I truly "fell in love" with Pat and Stan at our first meeting in my office at Jewish Family Service. Your wanting to adopt Anne and working with me to accomplish this introduced me to two of the finest people I have ever known. Our friendship which evolved from that meeting was something I always have cherished. Although time and distance separated us, I so enjoyed catching up on the few occasions which permitted it.Pat was a remarkable woman. Sheer goodness and love. Her indomitable spirit at times when it was not always easy to be positive, her concern for others and her love of family were impressive to say the least. And her laugh…..I shall always remember her laugh and her smile.Stan, Pat and you were such a great couple. I only saw the admiration, respect and love you showed toward each other. I know what a deep sense of loss this will be for you. I know how empty you will feel.Please know I am thinking of all of you …even those whom I have never met. You were privileged to have this wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother in your life. My condolences to the family. I knew from a friend of mine who shared an apartment with her. 45 years ago. I remember one cold winter day when she had a convertible mustang and we tried to put the top down. The rear window broke in a million pieces. It was a good laugh later.

Stan and Family:Mike and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Pati's passing. I still remember the meeting you both at Geez Leweez on Sanibel Island. You both were so gracious and welcoming to another Ohio visitor. Your wonderful yarn shop in Fort Myers has become my first stop when we get to Florida. Pati will be missed by many people.
