Patricia Gay Moretti's Obituary
Patricia Gay Moretti, 75, a Palmdale, FL & Cape Coral, FL resident since 1972, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Fort Myers, FL. She was born March 7, 1944 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Wilma Slattery.
Patricia was an avid reader, published author of poetry and accomplished artist. She loved solving crosswords puzzles, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Before moving to Cape Coral, her and Richard owned the general store and restaurant in Palmdale, Florida. Patricia enjoyed tending to her garden and was the true definition of a “green thumb” Patricia began her professional career working in a greenhouse and lab developing new species of plants and retired as an Administrative Assistant in 2018. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard Moretti, Sr.
Patricia is survived by her 5 loving children, Richard Moretti, Jr. (Debbie) of Palmdale, FL, Gina Moretti of Cape Coral, FL, Michael Moretti (Jan) of Duncan, SC, Teri Conway (Mike) of Mt. Holly, NC and Step-daughter Michelle Lanier (WC) of Palmdale, FL; one sister, Ruth Kardaras of Chicago, IL; brother, Robert Slattery of Chicago, IL; 7 grandchildren, Megan,, Kourtney, Connor, Bill, Adam, Josh and Matthew; seven great grandchildren, Zuke, Kyella, Grayson, Grady, Paisley, Presley and Cayden; as well as her beloved fur baby, Layla.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 2:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2020 with Pastor Dennis Ball officiating at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
