Our dearest Patti Sushil, you touched our lives profoundly, we are so heartbroken to lose you, yet so blessed to have known you. When we met for VPK, my little ones were behind their age group, barely verbal, but needed to make the transition away from home, to love learning and school. Every morning you were there to smile and hug them. You planned art centers, snack times, Leprechaun gold at the playground and Easter egg colors gone wild! You guided them through countless hand washings and embarrassing accidents in the bathroom. You set up Leapfrog day after day and fixed broken toys every time they asked. Your kindness and patience were infinite. How did you never raise your voice or use harsh words, even on the longest of days? It seems your Love went to school every single day (and for more than 20 years). By June, my little ones were jabbering nonstop. And you did this for hundreds of other little souls that, just like mine, left home for the first time to see God’s great big world. They all knew that, with Mrs. Sushil, the day would be exciting, an adventure of the mind and heart, with some moments requiring concentration and effort, but always surrounded by friendship, love and joy. Thank you Patti for giving us this special year of love and for so many gifts that we didn’t even know we had received until now. Please look after us now that you are in heaven, we love you!
