Patrick Colin Dargan, 74, of Fort Myers, FL, died December 31, 2016 at his residence.Memorial service will be held 10;30 AM, Friday January 13, 2017 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 5632 Sunrise Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33966.In lieu of flowers — Memorials: St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (5632 Sunrise Dr., Fort Myers, FL 33919) or Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center (1300 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408)Patrick was born June 25, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Robert and Julie (Harris) Dargan. He attended Assumption Elementary School and then North Catholic High School. After graduation from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Civil Engineering, he served as a Lieutenant in the US Army. As a civilian, Patrick began a long and established career with ALCOA, headquartered in Pittsburgh. He married Rita Modic on 10 May 1969 and lovingly embraced his role of husband/father. His dedication to goals and commitment to his company led to worthy accomplishments, personally and professionally. His career path took him to locations worldwide. Patrick cherished his faith and was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Fort Myers, FL.Over a lifetime, Patrick explored and enjoyed many varied interests. His spirit of adventure and love of nature were often the catalyst for many from canoeing to skiing. His concern and Christian values led to community involvement. His intellect led to appreciation of history, the arts, theater, and travel. His love of anything “automotive” formed a long history with the BMW Car Club of America events and participant in auto racing. He was also a member of CAMS/REVS institute in Naples. He had served as an instructor for Chin Motorsports and BMW. He was also a professional member of American Society of Civil Engineers. His love of photography continued throughout his lifetime.Patrick leaves behind to help cherish his memory his wife Rita; children Julianne Wolfe and her husband Chad of Philadelphia, PA, Patricia Kemp and her husband Burt of St. Louis, MO; and grandchildren Lincoln Wolfe and Quinn and Colin Kemp.The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Patrick.A Mass with Celebration of Life along with funeral/burial arrangements is forthcoming.
