I have know Paula for 18 years. We met at St Lucy's Church in the rectory. She approached me and said "I have a very old 77 y/o husband and I need a young family in my life!".

We spent many weekends sitting at each other's houses. Gabbing about house renovation which was both of our passions.

I was so sad when she didn't return North after John passed. It was several years later that we would get together for mini vacations. Unfortunately we only got to do two trips to Venices FL and St Augustine.

Summer is going to be rough. I am going to constantly expect her to walk through my door.

Hello, my name is Annie Rosenthal from Fort Myers FL. My deepest condolences on the loss of your dear Paula. She was so special to so many. I became friends with Paula thru Stan around 9 years ago. We bonded immediately and became confidents over the years. She spoke of you all so lovingly I feel I almost know you! And I remember her excitement when she bought the house so close to you up in RI. We always kept in touch and would get together for long visits during the winter season after Stan's death. The last time I saw her was last fall. She had met Ray and was so excited making new plans. I don't believe I had ever seen her so happy! I had been curious why I hadn't had from her after Christmas and kept on calling and calling leaving voice messages which went unreturned. I could not remember your last name to reach out to you. Finally in desperate my husband Googled her and told me he had found that she had passed away. I am heartbroken. Absolutely heartbroken. I will always remember her gutsiness . When she went off to Ireland/Scotland (?) all by herself, rented a car and toured I couldn't get over it. I would never have been brave enough to do that. And frankly know of no one else who would have done that either! And remembering to drive on the opposite side of the road? Forget it!
I just want to add that I loved Paula and shall miss her terribly. Will never forget her.
And if you could please pass on my condolences to Ray and tell him how very happy he made her.
