Paula Dillon's Obituary
Paula Dillon, 51, went to be with the Lord Monday night, September 17, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was recently diagnosed with an extremely aggressive cancer that took her life before anyone was ready for it. We are so thankful to know that she is no longer in any pain and partying with Jesus.Karen Paula Howze was born on February 3, 1967 in Fort Myers, Florida to Hazel and Aaron Howze. Having 3 older sisters, her father was sure he would have a boy to name after himself, Aaron Paul. When he was wrong, they gave her the name Karen Paula. This became an issue in the house due to the names being so similar, so she started going by Paula. She graduated from North Fort Myers High School in 1985. No one loved the North Fort Myers Red Knights more than Paula. She met Jeff Dillon in high school and married him on November 12, 1988 and had 3 beautiful children, Alyssa, Mallory and Blake.Paula was always committed and loyal to whatever she put her mind too. For the past 10 years, she poured her heart and soul into Fort Myers Christian School as the Administrative Assistant to Mel Mitchell. She loved creating and organizing all the events and fundraisers for the school. Many friends and parents loved to help Paula with these events. Paula loved holidays and time with her family. She enjoyed cruises and traveling. She was fascinated by Hurricanes. Unlike all the coffee drinkers, she started each morning with a large Pepsi over crushed ice. Paula loved Jesus more than anything and shared that love with her children and all those who came in contact with her.She was dearly loved and will be missed by her children, Alyssa, Mallory and Blake Dillon, her mother, Hazel Howze, her sisters, Brenda (George) Propps, Janice (Ed) Zarick, her nieces and nephews, Jason (Sheena) and Julia, Brianne (Drew) and Sloane (Josh), Eddie (Rafaella) and Dusty (Melony), her great nieces and nephews, Peyton, Emma and Tice, Riley, and Adeline, and her boyfriend Chey Winkler. She is reunited in Heaven with her dad, Aaron Howze, and her sister and brother in law, Trish and Michael Salisbury.A Visitation for Paula will be conducted from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 inside the main sanctuary at First Assembly of God Church, 4701 Summerlin Road, Fort Myers, Florida 33919, (239) 936-6277. A Funeral Service will be celebrated the following day, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM also inside the main sanctuary at the church. Paula will thereafter be laid to rest inside the Prayer Garden located at Memorial Gardens Cemetery during a private ceremony. To share a story or photo, leave a tribute or to offer condolences to the family at this difficult time please visit Paula’s memorial webpage at www.fortmyersmemorial.com and sign her guestbook.
