I was born with True Hermaphroditism in the late 1980s and this doctor was wonderful. I can remember how he compassionately explained to my young 20s something mother about my body that few doctors still understand today. I am 37 years old now and an educator and activist for Intersex awareness. I am here to pay my respects in appreciation for this incredible Physician. Dr. Ponce took care of me at the Cincinnati Health Department. Dr. Ponce taught my mother that I was a girl/boy instead of preaching corrective surgery, like many other doctors would have done at the time. I turned out just fine my journey began in Dr. Ponce’s care. Thank you Dr. Ponce for all of your service and support to the community in the Greater Cincinnati area. I appreciate you and your intelligence! Rest in Power.
