Peggy C Zimmerman's Obituary
Peggy C. Zimmerman, M.Ed, 84, of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully at home on
January 31, 2024. Peggy was born December 30, 1939 to Stanley and Georgie (Jones)
Hargrove in Snyder, OK.
Peggy was an educator and an accomplished author of medical technology textbooks
used in classrooms across the country today. She was working on her 16th edition until
her final days. Peggy was a master bridge player, enjoyed birding, traveling, hosting
parties and spending time with family and friends. She accepted everyone with an open
heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She had immense passion for her family,
spiritual work and the natural world.
Peggy’s warmth, charm, humor and grace remained with her until the end of her life on
earth.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Everett Leonard, daughter
Jackie Ellis, sisters Arlene Shafer and Pat Frazier, and brother Willis Hargrove.
Peggy leaves her loving memory with cherished survivors, husband Paul; bonus
children Shirley (Tom) Dodd; Susan Ringo; Neil (Tina) Zimmerman; Nancy
(Zimmerman) Linger; Melinda (Eric) Brault; grandchildren, Virginia (Jared) Steele; Kelly
(Kody) Bradford; Michael Linger; Andrew Zimmerman; Jonathan Linger; Jonathan,
Alexander, Nicholas and Sarah Brault; James (Red) Whicker, Matt Whicker and great-
grandchildren, Noah and Joel Steele; and Ella and Hailey Bradford; sister-in-law Terrie
Hargrove Gieptner; and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy is in Jesus’ loving arms, reuniting with her beloved Jackie.
Peggy's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of her
final arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Village
Church, Shell Point Retirement Community, 15100 Shell Point Blvd, Fort Myers, FL
33908.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are requested.
