Penelope Anne Madeley's Obituary
Penelope Anne Madeley, 73, passed from this life on September 25, 2013. She was born in 1940 in Pretoria, South Africa to the late Vic and Beatrice (Agnew) Torr. Penny moved to Lee County in 2001 from New York City, retiring after 17 years as Executive Assistant to the CEO of RJR-Nabisco. She loved reading, knitting and operas. Her most loved passion was her involvement in several ministries at Iona Hope Episcopal Church. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 21 years, Doug Madeley; step-daughters, Lori Mercier and her husband Jim of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Vicki Gambino of Verplanck, New York. Penny has gone to her heavenly reward. We believe she has achieved the real purpose of life. But what about us? Her dear friends and family know that her spirit will watch over them, and light their paths as they continue the journey she has so gloriously ended. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Iona Hope Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. John S. Adler presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Iona Episcopal Church Building Fund, 9650 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Memories and condolences may be made online at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
