Peter Charles Georges' Obituary
Peter Charles Georges, 99, a beloved member of the Florida community since 1990 and formerly of Applegate, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025, under the compassionate care of Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL.
Born on November 17, 1925, in Detroit, MI, to the late Henry and Emily (Chesny) Georges, Peter lived a full and rich life defined by love, dedication, and service to others. A proud United States Navy Veteran, Peter exemplified patriotism and a hardworking spirit.
Peter was a man of incredible skill and passion, known for his love of working with his hands and tools. His deep commitment to helping others was evident in his cherished years of volunteering at Joanne’s Hospice House in Bonita Springs, FL—a role that brought him immense joy and purpose.
Above all, Peter’s family meant everything to him. He treasured the time spent sharing meals and creating memories with his loved ones. Known for his sweet tooth, Peter had a particular fondness for chocolate, especially chocolate chip cookies—a love that always brought a smile to those around him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret and son, Jeffrey Georges.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Audrey Georges of Punta Gorda, FL; two sons, James Georges and his wife, Claudia of Brownstown, MI and David Georges and his wife, Susan of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Georges Dieker of Flower Mound, TX; one sister, Johanna Wormlinger of Croswell, MI; six grandchildren, Jill, Matthew, Jennifer, Nathan, Connor and Grant; as well as nine adored great grandchildren, CJ, Jalynn, Hartley, Carter, Reagan, Griffin, Riley, Jackson and Cameron.
A Memorial Service will be held _Wednesday, March 12th , 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, Punta Gorda, FL 211 W Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950
