Peter Greco's Obituary
Peter Greco, 65, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026.
Born on October 31, 1960, in Far Rockaway, New York, Peter was the son of Peter T. and Joan L. (West) Greco. He was raised on Long Island and graduated from Lawrence High School, where he distinguished himself both academically and athletically. A talented athlete, Peter excelled on the wrestling mat and served as quarterback of the school's football team, demonstrating the determination, leadership, and competitive spirit that would characterize his life.
Formerly of West Islip, New York, Peter made Lehigh Acres his home in 2023. A skilled tradesman with an exceptional work ethic, he spent many years in the construction industry, laying sheetrock and specializing in flooring. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to fix just about anything earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. At the time of his passing, Peter proudly served as Maintenance Manager at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers, where his dedication and reliability were greatly valued.
Peter had a passion for life and enjoyed the things that brought people together. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to cheering on his beloved New York Mets. He also loved riding motorcycles and treasured the freedom and camaraderie that came with the open road. Above all, Peter cherished time spent with family and friends. Known for his infectious personality, quick wit, and generous heart, he was truly the life of the party wherever he went. His presence could light up a room, and he leaves behind countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Louann (Russo) Greco; his sisters, Kathleen Greco Pellegrino Jablow and Kimberly (Kenneth) Casella; his brothers, Thomas Greco and Edward Greco; and his nephews, Kenneth Pellegrino, Timothy Pellegrino, and Nicholas Greco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter T. and Joan L. Greco.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907.
Peter's family and friends will forever remember his hardworking nature, his love of family, his devotion to his friends, and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
