Rev. Peter Alonzo Patterson's Obituary
Reverend Peter Alonzo Patterson, 73, of West Chester, PA as God dispatched an angel, he went to be with the Lord July 22,2024 at Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres, FL.
He was born Oct. 23, 1950, in West Chester, PA. Son of Peter Patterson and Doris Jones-Nash. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter & Doris and Stepfather Harry Nash. His in-laws Matthew (Flutty) & Gerselie (Gus) Thompson, sisters, Darleen Jones & Rose Green. Children Brett Mickens & Lionel Mickens, Grandchildren, Marley Mickens, Brett Mickens and Great-Grandchildren Deajrian Hudson and Cameron Ward. He is survived by his brother Monte, nieces Hope, Mickey, Tamika, and nephew Daniel.
Peter leaves to cherish his memory a faithful and loving wife of 50 years, Geraldine, three daughters, Marcella Mickens-Holloway (James), Malissa Carter, Danieal Wilson and son Mitchell Mickens.
Upon graduating from Henderson High School in West Chester, PA he served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam war for 3 years, then in the PA National Guard for another 17 years. He worked many years as an Auto Body mechanic, and later pursued a career in Security. He worked for Chester County Prison, Sleighton Farms school, Hirium G Andrews school, Ft Myers High School and Sony. He later received a license as a Private Investigator and Minister of the Gospel. He was also a volunteer Chaplin for Hope Hospice.
Peter loved to watch his Westerns and his daily dose of the wartime show MASH. He also studied the Bible and his ministries endlessly and loved the Philadelphia Eagles.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at New Image Ministries Church, 29 Homestead Rd S., Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Immediately following service, there will be a Memorial plaque dedication along with a Repast and Celebration of Life for local family and friends.
Peter will then be transported to Johnstown, Pennsylvania. On August 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM, a Visitation will take place at Hindman Funeral Home, 1521 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, Pennsylvania 15902. A Burial service will thereafter be conducted at 12:00 Noon at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1530 Frankstown Road, Johnstown, Pennsylvania 15902. The family is requesting any contributions or offerings be directed to Mrs. Geraldine Patterson, 1615 Scott Ave., Lehigh Acres, FL 33972.
