Phyllis Ann Slosser's Obituary
Phyllis Ann Slosser of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Hope Hospice after some recent health challenges. She was 82. Phyllis was born March 3, 1935 in Whittemore, Michigan to the late Russell and Elvalee Freel. She worked 14+ years as a preschool teacher at Bobbie Noonan’s. Formerly of Michigan, she and her family moved to southwest Florida in 1985. Phyllis was a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Coral. Her giving spirit was quite evident as she actively volunteered her time and talents in the church Thrift Store and Community Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Tegan Jack Slosser (2015) and her brothers Jim Freel and Harold Freel. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 62+ years, Jack Slosser and their children Kris Slosser (Denise) of Bonita Springs, Florida and Kay Celek of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Freel and her two sisters, Myrna Lee Sauer and Marcella Lavely. Phyllis is the loving grandmother of Nicholas, Kristen, Madison, Kennedy, Kaden, Rylan, Katryna, Janelle and Marissa. Visitation will be 4pm until 6pm followed by funeral service at 6pm Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her her honor are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church 13 SE 21st Place, Cape Coral, Florida 33990.
