Quinton Thomas Von Gerds' Obituary
Quinton Thomas Von Gerds, 85, of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was born in Wauwatosa, WI to Clarence Martin and Evelyn Viola (Dose) Gerds. He retired from the United States Army in 1980, proudly serving for 25 years. Following his retirement he became a Defense Contractor for the Army for the next 18 years. He and his family lived in Germany from 1976 – 1998 before moving to Florida.Mr. Von Gerds is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helga Marie Von Gerds; his son, Robert Von Gerds (Kerri Boss) of Cincinnati, OH; his two brothers: Raymond Gerds of Fort Myers Beach and Warren Gerds of Green Bay, WI. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Gerds in 2014.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Fort Myers Rescue Mission.
