Ralph H. Picking's Obituary
Ralph Harvey Picking of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018 while under Hospice Care following some recent health challenges. He was 86 years old.Ralph was born on November 20, 1931 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, the proud son of Sarah (Good) and Harvey Picking. He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army and was decorated with the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. He later worked in the computer field as a programmed and engineer. He was married to the late Phyllis (Newcomer) Picking who sadly preceded him in death in 2017.A Memorial Service for Ralph will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 1, 2018 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Following the service, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Ralph will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Phyllis at the mausoleum located in the Garden of Serenity. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in honor of Ralph be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
