Randy Edward Mayer's Obituary
Randy Edward Mayer, 76, a 12 year resident of Fort Myers Beach, FL passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Detroit, MI on October 9, 1944 to the late Claude and Marjorie Mayer.
Randy was a proud United States Army Veteran. He earned the Purple Heart while in Vietnam. 55 years after being honorably discharged, he was still active in the The American Legion and VFW. Randy was a skilled tool and die maker, owning his own business later in his career. He also owned Novi Auto Wash for several years in the 1980s. Randy was the life of the party, always having a smile on his face and always willing and wanting to have anyone and everyone on his boat. Even being several states away, he never missed one of his grandchildren’s birthdays. He was “Puppa Randy” to his grandchildren. that made his family smile. Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Mayer.
Randy is survived by his loving son, Jeffry Mayer and his wife Laura of Burtchville, MI; three grandchildren, Ryan, Brady and Miranda; three siblings, Ric Mayer of Hamburg, MI, Claudia Hill (Rick) of White Lake, MI and Rod Mayer of Fenton, MI; as well as several extended family members and friends.
The inurnment will be held at a later date with the United States Army presenting Military Honors.
