Raymond Edward Lutzen's Obituary
Raymond E. Lutzen, 92 of Fort Myers, FLA and formerly of Niantic, CT, died on July 26, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born on September 8, 1921, to John and Martha Smith Lutzen. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Davis Lutzen and four siblings. He leaves 4 children Susanne Jullarine, Gregory Lutzen and wife Frances, Beth Orth and husband Gregory, and Mary Lutzen, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Gertrude O’Brien, and a brother William Lutzen. He proudly served with the Marine Corps in World War II in the Pacific Campaign. Ray worked at Hamilton Standard, Pratt & Whitney, and IBEW local 90 retiring in 1984. He was a master electrician and at one time owned his own contracting business. Ray loved boating, fishing and socializing with his friends. He also taught many Giant’s Neck Beach children how to waterski. He was past commander and lifetime member of VFW Post 5849 in Niantic, and lifetime member of the Elks. Memorial Gardens in Fort Myers, Florida is in charge of arrangements. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any hospice of your choice.
