Rebecca Smith Markgraf's Obituary
Rebecca Smith Markgraf, 57, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016. She was born June 26, 1959 in Birmingham, AL and moved to Fort Myers with her family in 1991. She was a registered nurse and received her nursing certification from St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Edison College and went on to complete her certification in Operating Room and Coding for billing and claims review. Most recently, she worked at home in claims review. Rebecca is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Kurt Markgraf; her children: Max Markgraf, who is currently attending the University of South Florida to receive his Bachelor’s Degree and Melissa Markgraf currently living in England where she is studying for her Master’s Degree. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Joan (nee Day) Smith. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907. Online condolences may be offered at: www.fortmyersmemorial.com. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 – 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Edison Restaurant, 3583 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
