Rev. Richard Adomatis' Obituary
Reverend Richard Adomatis, age 88, passed away August 12, 2020. He was born August 16, 1931 in Indianapolis to Alex and Mildred Adomatis. He was married to Sandra K. on July 2, 1983, whom he often called his guiding angel. He received a MAI designation in 1968, a Masters from Liberty University in 1993 and an honorary Doctorate from American Bible College in 2015. He served 2 years in the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning to civilian life, he started his own building business. From 1958 through 1971, he started and managed 7 businesses related to the Real Estate industry. He retired in 1992 and moved from Indiana to Florida. Not able to sit around, he volunteered and was active in many community services. A few are, serving on the Charlotte Symphony Board, Bible teaching at several churches, including 15 years as Chaplain in Florida State prisons. He worked activity duty for the Coast Guard, at a boat station and flying missions for station Clearwater, FL. For 10 years, he served as a volunteer for the Punta Gorda Police Department and served 12 years as hearing officer for the Charlotte County Code Enforcement Board. He served many more and they are too numerous to mention. Mr. Adomatis is survived by his wife, Sandra; his daughter, Diane Ginn; his sons: Dennis, David and Douglas plus step daughters, Rhonda Martin and Jeannie Robertson, whom he raised. A memorial service will be held at his gravesite in Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Child Evangelism Ministries.
