Richard Chipman's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Jay Chipman, a beloved father, grandfather, family member, and friend. Rick, age 67, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away unexpectedly in Newaygo, Michigan, on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026. He was born to Alvin and Joan (nee Greinke) Chipman on January 4th, 1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Rick had a passion for life and the things he loved most. He enjoyed anything with wheels—from cars to quads—and was happiest when he was working on, talking about, or riding them. He had a special love for Michigan and cherished the memories, places, and people that made it feel like home.
Above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply being together, he took pride in watching them grow and creating memories they will carry with them forever.
He also had a special place in his heart for animals and was never short on affection for the pets and creatures that crossed his path.
Rick is survived by his children, Susan (Chris) Farr and Steven (Leslie) Chipman; grandchildren, Madalyn, Addison, Krue, Liam, and Knox; siblings, Rosalyn Preston and Tim Chipman; his beloved cat, Haley; his faithful dog, Tina; and many more family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Those who knew him will remember his love for family, his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Rick was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Linda Chipman; and his siblings, Robert Chipman and Earl Chipman. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will continue to honor his life by sharing the stories, values, and memories he gave them.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33907. A celebration of life will follow.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered. ❤️
