Richard Doyle's Obituary
Richard “Rich” Joseph Doyle, 78, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on April 29, 2024. He
was born on February 9, 1946 to Helen (McCauley) Doyle and Alvin Doyle in Beech Grove,
Indiana.
Rich was a graduate of Sacred Heart Central in Indianapolis and then attended and graduated
from Purdue University as an electrical engineer four years later. He worked at Naval Avionics
and Raytheon where he retired as a project manager. He was passionate about playing as
much golf as possible, as well as traveling with his wife. He enjoyed spending winters down in
Florida and being involved in the community activities. Rich will be remembered for his teasing
jokes, laughter, compassion for others, and love for his family.
Rich was a devoted husband of almost 55 years to his wife Pamela (Hippensteel) Doyle, and an
amazing father to his two daughters Melissa Schossler (John) and Michelle Kernea (Scott). He
was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Abigail Schossler and Adam Schossler. He is
survived by his three sisters, Ann(Doyle) Dodds (Skip), Mary (Doyle) Hines, and Barbara(Doyle)
Boehm (Bob). Rich is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Rich is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Doyle and Helen (McCauley) Doyle, and by his
two brothers and sister, Charlotte (Doyle) Cahill, Gerald “Jerry” Doyle, and John “Jack” Doyle.
A funeral mass will be held on May 17th at 10:00 am at Saint Jude Catholic Church (5353
McFarland Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46227) with visitation one hour prior. There will be a private
ceremony at Fairview cemetery in Servia, Indiana on Saturday for the family.
