I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to Rich's family. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. I knew Rich from working at Xerox in Parkridge ,Illinois. He was the best center Manager I ever remember in my 20 years with Xerox Corp. He always had a smile and a joke around the corner :). I'm reminded of one of our annual meetings where Rich actually came out in a Batman like costume with the mask and cape and lip singing to 'We are the Champions ' by Queen! It was one of the highlights of all my years with Xerox! He was a beautiful person and I wish him Godspeed. High school was a long time ago, but a few people remain vivid in memory. Visiting Richie in the hospital after an accident, I was half-afraid to peek into his room, but there he was, making everyone laugh. Rich was a big part of my Xerox life from my day 1 (1968) in Accounts Payable with Hank Klint, Bob Maloney and Janet Flannagan. He took all the challenges with sesitivity and humor to get the best results. We crossed paths many times in our Rochester Customer Administration careers and in Penfield. He was always a friend and able to balance humor with 'getting things done'. Judy and his family have been a major presence with our families in Penfield. God speed…. Mary & Dick Montgomery

So sorry to hear that Rich has passed. We worked together in so many different capacities and departments at Xerox it's hard to remember all of them. Rich was always good for a laugh, even in the midst of a crisis, We often joked that he was the perfect example of the little kid who was digging through a pile of horse manure without stopping until someone asked him what he was doing. And the kid says, "with all this horse shit piled here I figure there has to be a pony somewhere in there!" Rich could always find "the pony" and lifted everyone's spirits when he did.Judy, Susan and I are so sorry for your loss. Please know that we both have great memories of the two of you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Judy we have so many memories with you and Rich when you were in Rochester.He was a great guy who always made everyone laugh, and he was always fun and such a positive person. We both started at Xerox at the same time in the same department .He was well liked right away and was a man who stood out and did very well.We will all miss Rich ;but he leaves this world a better place having been here.His infamous laugh pictures on Facebook, his art, his bird houses, his jokes but mostly his love of his family will remain with me forever.Mary Jo Bender

I survived with Rich our years at McQuaid. I like to take credit for introducing Rich to Judy ( one of my wife's best friends at St. Agnes). I understand Judy still remembers the shirt Rich wore when we invaded the party on Crawford. Rich was a loyal & entertaining friend. Just a great guy, but you already know that.p.s. I still have 8mm from a New Year's Eve party at that their house. I may submit it to Wikileaks someday. Bill Bender
