Richard James Haberle Jr's Obituary
On Monday June 20, 2022 Richard James Haberle Jr, loving husband and extraordinary father, passed away at the age of 75. His last breath was taken surrounded by love in Tallahassee, Fl.
Richard aka as Habe was born in Philadelphia, PA September 27, 1946 to Richard James Sr and Verna Haberle. Habe was the second oldest of 4 children. Shortly after graduating high school, Habe joined the United States Air Force and honorably served in the Vietnam War. Following the war Habe went on to work in the air freight business and worked for companies such as PanAm with pride. In 1992, Habe finally met his match and married Elizabeth Anne (nee Schoudt) aka Betty Anne. In 1994 they moved to Fort Myers, Florida and raised their beautiful children with all the love they had to give.
Having lived in Fort Myers for 26 years Habe worked as head of security for the Edison Mall, a role he loved, before an early retirement in 2006. Habe adored animals, especially dogs!! Surely he was greeted to heaven by his many passed pups. He also had a deep appreciation for music and even sang Doo Wop on the streets of Philly as a young boy. He loved sports, particularly football and was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan. But his greatest affection was for his family whom he spoke of all the time. He had 3 incredible grandchildren who he adored and admired with pride.
Habe is preceded in death by his parents and little brother/best friend Robert Haberle Sr. who was waiting for him in heaven with records playing and a story to tell. He is survived by his gorgeous wife of 30 years Betty Anne , his beautiful sisters Carole Bond of Lexington, KY and Jacqueline (Alvin) Ferrigno of Sicklerville, NJ, his loving cousin Robin Neil Haberle of Wilmington, DE, his children who absolutely adored him, Kasey Esposito of New Rochelle, NY and Ryan Mawson of Tallahassee, FL, and last but certainly not least his grandchildren Pietro (Peter), Sofia, Giulia and his grand puppy Louie Esposito.
