Richard M. Hallam's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Hallam, 81, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Originally from Peoria, Illinois, he had been a resident of Florida for over 50 years.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1961-64. He began in his career in Lee County in 1970 as the Director of the Housing and Urban Redevelopment, and retired as Lee County Assistant Director of the 20th Judicial Courts. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker. Richard was also an active 32nd Freemason, and a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal church. Dick loved to fish, travel, ride horses, and ride his motorcycle.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Claudette; stepdaughter Maryann and husband Chris Cuthbertson; grandson Patrick Gallagher and partner Kasey Davis; great-grandson Leon Gallagher; and other cherished extended family members. He is predeceased by his mother, Bonnie Lafferty; and stepson Sean Gallagher.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 2:00PM officiated by Father Rowe of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
