Richard C. Hauch's Obituary
Richard Charles Hauch, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born February 26, 1932, in Barrien County, Michigan, to August and Marie (Wirsbinski) Hauch.He is preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Lydia (Herman) Hafer.He leaves his wife of 45 years, Lenore (Dellinger) Hauch; two step-daughters, Lyssa (James) Kiley and Luann (David) Flammia; three grandchildren, Gregory (Michelle) Betts, Lori (Raymond) Hall and Michelle (Jaden) McNeely; and six great grandchildren, Reed, Noah, Grace, Chloe, Grayson and Emery Scout.“Dick” was raised in New Troy, Michigan. He dated his lovely wife Lenore in High School, often picking her up after her job at the movie theater. While they went their separate ways, they reconnected later in life, and he was her dedicated husband to the end. They lived in Michigan for years before retiring to Florida. They enjoyed many vacations together and loved to take cruises. He loved boating, fishing, and time with family and friends, visiting and playing cards. He did countless projects and remodels on their many houses. He faithfully supported Lenore through years of dementia and his biggest concern was leaving her.Having served our country in the Korean War, “Dick” was very proud to be a Veteran and member of the American Legion. He worked as Transportation Manager for Clark Equipment for many years and retired from Clark in Battle Creek, Michigan.“Dick” was lovingly known to our family as “Pa” and he will be dearly missed.A service will be held at Church of the Cross Chapel, 13500 Freshman Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33912, on Saturday, September 14th at 11:00am. All are welcome. Another celebration with Military Honors, will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Fort Myers Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark, Cir, Fort Myers, FL 33908.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
