Richard Louis Houser's Obituary
Richard Louis Houser of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Hope Hospice. He was 86. Dick was born October 28, 1930 in Montpelier, Ohio. He was the son of the late Louis and Wilma Houser. Dick maintained his strong ties to Montpelier, Ohio as a 1949 graduate of Montpelier High School. After graduation he began a 36 year career (1950 – 1986) with Mohawk Tools retiring as a District Sales Representative. After retirement, in 1987, he moved from Robbinsville, New Jersey to Fort Myers, Florida. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Richard, nicknamed “Trouble” because of his wild sense of humor, was blessed with many good friends throughout his life. His love of sports, especially golf and bowling, old westerns and his dog, Bella, were things he enjoyed the most. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Vaske and Doris Marcotte. Dick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Audrey; his three children, Holly (Jeff) Bloomfield of Louisville, Kentucky, John R. Houser and Louis A. Houser both of Montpelier, Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Leslie Coplentz, Lindsey Serrano, Leah Houser, Jonathan Bloomfield, Joseph Bloomfield and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be 10am – 11am followed by funeral ceremony at 11am, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907. Entombment will be in the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name are suggested to Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle Fort Myers, FL 33908.
