Richard A. Kennedy's Obituary
Richard A. Kennedy, 50 years of age, of Fort Myers, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2013 in Naples, Florida. Richard was born in Fort Myers on December 8, 1962 a son of Vivian Hughes Kennedy and the late William L. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was a 1987 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and was a devoted Gators fan. He was employed with R.W.A. Consultants in Naples. Richard was an active volunteer with the Special Olympics and had become an avid long distance bicyclist over the past year. He was a member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Myers. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother, and is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sharon Gunsett Kennedy; his sons, Joshua and Jacob Kennedy; his mother, Vivian Kennedy; his siblings, Kathy Fountain and William L. Kennedy, Jr.; also surviving are 5 nephews, Mark Fountain, Gregg Fountain, Andy Fountain, Jeremy Gunsett and Jesse Gunsett and a great niece, Zoe Fountain. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3825 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a College Fund for the Children, payable to Joshua Kennedy. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
