Richard Allen Kreitsch's Obituary
Mr. Richard (Rick) Allen Kreitsch, 50, of Texas, formerly of Monroe died Monday, November 10, 2014 after a lengthy illness.A Visitation will be conducted from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Visitation will also be observed the following day, Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 10:00 -11:00 AM. This will be followed by the celebration of a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, also in the Chapel. Upon conclusion of services, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Richard will be laid to rest in Christus Garden.Born May 7, 1964 in Detroit, Rick was the son of the late Ronald Kreitsch and Sharlene Kreitsch. After graduation from Jefferson High School in 1982, he went to work for the family business, Engines Unlimited.He moved from Monroe to North Fort Myers, Florida in 1987 to pursue his passion of car racing. He became an aggressive racer and had many show-stopping performances in his number 66 car where he earned the title of “Good Men Wear Black.”Rick then moved to Texas in 2007 where he worked as an interstate truck driver for an oil company until he was forced to medically retire after being diagnosed with a debilitating autoimmune disease.Rick is survived by his mother, Sharlene Kreitsch of North Fort Myers, Florida; two sisters, Susan (Bud) Peebles and Jackie Johnson-Tracy (Doug) also from North Fort Myers, Florida; brother Tim (Barbara) Johnson of Chelsea, Michigan; eight nephews, James (Chad Lauren), Anthony, Rontrez, Kobe, Ryan, Dominic, Timothy and Matthew; two nieces, Amanda and Hailey; two step-nieces, Kimberly (Matthew) Woods and Vanessa (Martin) Rivas; four great step nieces; Lauren (Tony), Nicole, Kaitlin and Riley; one great step nephew, Alex; three great-great step nieces, Chloe, Madelynn and Sophia; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
