Thank you for your lovely comments Bill. I will share them with my mother, Julie and Michael. Best, Lisa Diamond Stein
Dear Nancy, Lisa, Julie and Michael,I worked for your husband/father at The Trumbull Times for seven years (1970-77), and I deeply respected his newspaper skills in establishing the Times as an important voicenot only in the town but also throughout the state. He understood the politics and the social conditions in which his newspaper thrived. He was a pioneer in offset printing, a vast improvement over the old method of publishing a newspaper, called hot type. His progressive thinking carried over to taking courageous stands against advocates of the status quo; he wanted to improve the lot not only of the citizens of Trumbull but alsothe downtrodden in Bridgeport and the entire state of Connecticut. In my 55-year career in newspapering (from high school), he was the boss I most respected and liked. Why?Because he cared. Sincerest condolences to you all. — bill blando
