Richard Walter Sharrott's Obituary
Richard W. Sharrott, 85, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, just days before his 86th birthday.
Born on June 27, 1940, in Staten Island, New York, Richard lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family and friends. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army before beginning a distinguished career with the New York City Fire Department.
Richard was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything. Whether helping a friend, assisting a neighbor, or tackling a project for his family, he approached every task with skill and determination.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Leanne and her husband, Marc; his three cherished grandchildren; and his brother, Paul. He was predeceased by his brother, Howard; his mother, Edith; and his father, Howard.
Richard was deeply loved by his family and by the many close friends whose lives he touched throughout the years. He will be remembered for his generosity, strength and sense of humor.
A service will be held on July 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
