Alan’s family includes his wife Althea of 13 years of marriage, and children Alexandra (Kevin) and Joshua. Alan is survived by his uncle and aunt John and Alicia Gerald and sister Lisa (Randall) Renshaw, many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.
Alan attended Bishop Verot Catholic High School and Edison Community College. Alan’s passions and strong desire for adventure allowed him to travel all over the world. He believed in higher learning of any kind and was an avid reader and historian. His true “mistress” will always be flying as he learned how at a young age in small planes and crop dusters. Alan loved nature and all creatures great and small, either horses, birds, cats or dogs, and sea life in the ocean they all gravitated to him. Alan could grow anything from a seed or a piece of plant. He would say you need to talk to nature kindly so it will trust you and flourish. Alan was a “fish” per his mom Louise as he loved being in the water swimming, diving, fishing and of course going fast in a boat.
Alan touched many people’s lives and is deeply loved and missed by his family and friends. We will continue to love him in our hearts and tell his stories. God speed my love as you skip through time with your hair on fire!
