Robert Julius Bollenbach's Obituary
Robert Julius Bollenbach, 89, a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL since 1992, formerly of Florence, MA passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born May 5, 1932 in Holyoke, MA to the late Julius and Helen (nee Flath) Bollenbach.
Robert was a proud United States Army Veteran serving as a Military Police Corporal as well as a Deputy Sheriff in Hampshire County, MA for many years.
Robert brought a quick wit and engaging demeanor to all he met. He enjoyed a successful career with the Bank of Boston, maintaining a close circle of friends, even into retirement.
He was devoted to his faith and actively involved in his church. An avid golf lover, he proudly achieved two holes in 1 during his career. He was also a sleuth at the pool table, and a lifelong fan of the Red Sox and New England Patriots. Robert and his beloved wife enjoyed many cruises together as well as time with children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Doris Bollenbach of Lehigh Acres, FL; three children, Robbin Zarbo (J. Christopher) of Sunnyvale, CA, Sandra Fidalgo (Art) of Suffield, CT and Mark Bollenbach (Patricia) of Haverhill, MA; two stepsons, Bob Smart (Gayle) of Cape Cod, MA and Brian Smart (Anita) of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Jeff), Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Noel, John and Daniel; as well as two adored great grandchildren, Lily and Levi.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, December 17, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church, 705 Leeland Heights Boulevard E., Lehigh Acres, FL 33936 where the United States Army will present Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations to his beloved church are appreciated.
