Robert Luther Bower's Obituary
Robert Luther Bower of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Gardiner, ME, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 in his home. He was 82. Robert was born June 27, 1932 in Billerica, ME to the late Luther Adam and Laura Mary Bower. He worked as a Construction Inspector before ultimately moving to Fort Myers in 1995. He was a sharpshooter in the Army from 1953 through 1957 during the Korean Conflict. Robert was active in his community as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Life member of the Good SAM Club. He loved to camp and developed many friendships through the years with his association with Good Sam Club. As a result of those acquaintances, he became active in the Special Olympics of Maine. He will be deeply missed. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Gail Bower, his children, Robert Bower, Jr, Diane Kimball, Randy Bower, Linda McFarland, Stanley Bower, Kathy Harriman, Laura Bower and Karen Benner; four sisters, Laura Laurent, Norma Schilling, Barbara Weaver and Betty Lou Maddocks; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
