Robert Charles Chesnover's Obituary
Robert Charles Chesnover, age 92 of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on September 17. Robert (Bob) was born on July 29, 1932 in Baker, MT.
Bob attended University of Montana receiving a degree in Journalism. After graduation he enlisted with the Army, working in Counter Intelligence during the Korean War.
Upon returning to the states in 1958, he went to work for Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington where he met his bride Bobbi. They were married in 1961 in Denver, CO.
Bob and Bobbi moved to Sunny Vale, CA, then to Richmond, IN, and then settled in Grand Rapids, MI where they raised their family and their standard poodle Oliver. The majority of Bob’s career was spent working in Human Resources. Bob retired from Guardsman Products in 1995 and went on to volunteer with the Salvation Army in Grand Rapids, MI and then in Tucson, AZ.
Bob and Bobbi retired to Tucson, AZ in 1997, before moving to Fort Myers in 2017. Family was extremely important to Bob and even though his family was spread out across the country he prioritized to help organize and always attend the family reunions. Bob had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed being outdoors skiing, white water rafting and hiking. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, sports and spending time with family.
Bob is survived by his wife Bobbi, and their 3 children – Lisa (John) Rosloniec of Grand Rapids, MI, Michael (Christine) Chesnover of Fort Myers, FL and Julie (Scott) Johnson of La Grange, IL. Bob had 5 grandchildren – Rachael Chesnover, Michael Chesnover, Nicholas Johnson, Christopher Johnson and William Johnson. Bob is also survived by sisters Gladys Williams and Anna Acerbis. He was predeceased by his parent John and Mary, and his siblings Leonard, Mack, Jane and Viola.
