Robert Byron Dix's Obituary
Robert Byron Dix, better known as Barney to his family and friends, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was 79 years old.
Barney was born on July 10, 1940 in Columbus, Ohio, the proud son to Avonelle (DeLong) and George E. Dix. He was a U.S. Veteran and long-time employee at Charlotte County Ford in Port Charlotte, Florida before retiring from their Service Department as Service Manager. He was the loving husband to his devoted wife Charlotte W. Dix who sadly preceded him in death in 2015. He leaves behind his son Kirk Bernhard and his wife Erin of Fort Myers, many extended family members and a multitude of others who were happy to call him a friend.
Immediate funeral services are private. A Memorial Gathering will be privately announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family instead suggests donations be made instead to the Salvation Army in memory of Barney and Charlotte.
