Robert Anthony Dreylick Jr's Obituary
Robert Anthony Dreylick, Jr; affectionately known as Rob; passed away on Tuesday May 20th, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida after complications from a stroke. He was just 64 years young. He was born on Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi on February 6th, 1961 and had been a resident of Punta Gorda, Florida for 5 years.
Anyone who knew Rob knew they had a friend. A friend that would give them anything they needed or find a way to get it. A friend that was always down to go anywhere or do anything, no matter how crazy. You could show up and he would hop in to go out to eat, ride along to the Keys or even to a different state. Rob loved music old and new. You could find him at the beach dancing to reggae or looking for the giant diamond ring he always hoped to find with his metal detector.
More than anything in this world Rob loved his family. His grandchildren gave him life, and that showed every day. He was at every single game and competition for the older 3 and he visited the new baby every day since she was brought home. He bought lottery tickets to scratch with them and would always share his Pepsi. He waited eagerly at the bus stop with some new toy- a minibike or go kart, a 4wheeler he got on marketplace that he frankenstein’ed to get to run just so they could have fun. He tore up the streets with those kids and enjoyed every second of it. He was a welder/pipefitter for 40 years and would brag to out-weld anyone else in the industry. He traveled for many years up and down the east coast, even to the Bahamas working at different power plants and shipyards.
Rob leaves a legacy like no other. He needed very little to be happy and lived his life on a moment-to-moment basis, with pride, knowing no boundaries or limits. His absence will leave a tremendous void in the lives of his children, grandchildren and extended family.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Marilyn and Robert Dreylick Sr.; brother Loran Stone; and his cherished sister Carol Johnson.
Left behind to share outrageous stories and memories of Rob are his children, Matt Dreylick of Hampton, VA, Renee (Adam), Marissa, and Michael Dreylick all of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren Addison, Connor, Aiden and Helena; siblings Laurie Gilliland (Mike), Marilyn Garner (Donnie), Mary Finney and John Dreylick; many beloved nieces, nephews and their children; longtime friends Mitch and Sal; and every person he met along the way that instantly became a friend.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Virginia where he spent most of his life.
