Robert C Gregory's Obituary
Robert Claxton Gregory, 98, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL where he was a resident since 2000 with his beloved wife Betty, formerly Bertha K. Young. He was born May 30, 1922 in Staten Island, New York to the late Thomas Claxton Gregory and his wife Ethel formerly Ethel Maas Comins. His wife Betty passed on in 2014.
Robert served in the United States Merchant Marine during WWII and until 1947. From 1948 to 1964 was Manager of Manufacturing and Engineering for Wallerstein, a Division of Baxter Laboratories, Inc. After serving as Manufacturing Manager for Standard Brands in Dover, DE, he became Vice President of Operations for Rollins Environmental Services from which he retired in 1975.
Robert is survived by his three loving children: Robert Claxton Gregory, Jr. (Beverly) of Huntsville, AL, Susan Elizabeth Ahrens (Charles) of Fort Myers, FL and Carol Gregory Simpson (Ted) of France; as well as one grandson, Ian Gregory Simpson.
No formal services are planned at this time. Robert will be laid to rest with his wife, Bertha, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Sylvan Terrace area of the cremation garden.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
