Robert "Bob" Guile's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the loss of Robert “Bob” Guile. He was taken from us suddenly after a brief, and tragic illness. Bob was a faithful and loving husband, a steadfast father, and an honored and proud grandfather. He grew up in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, attended local schools and graduated High School in 1962. Following this, he attended The University of Connecticut completing his higher education in 1970 with a PhD in Electrical Engineering. While at UCONN., he was honored as a University Scholar, one of 10 selected from a class of 1600, for his academic achievements. Bob was Phi Beta Kappa, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He spent most of his career at United Technology Research Center in East Hartford, Connecticut. He retired at 56, and shared much happiness with his wife of 50 years Lorraine Pia Guile, with his family, traveling, playing tennis and golf with the “boys”.His family would like him to be remembered as a loving, kind and gentle soul. He was so proud of his sons, their wives and 6 beautiful and so special grandchildren. He leaves to deeply mourn his loss, sons Scott (wife Kim), and grandsons, Jake, Tegan and Brandon, Dr. Matthew Guile (wife Ana) and grandchildren Eva, Emilio and Enrique, (the 3 E’s), his brother Roy Guile, nieces Alison and Carolyn, and nephew Mark and their families, and Sister-in-law Inez Faillace, (husband Joe) and nephew David and many friends in Connecticut, Vermont, and Florida.
