Robert J. "Bobby Dune" Condos' Obituary
Robert J. Condos, 73, affectionately known as “Bobby Dune” of Sanibel Island FL and formerly of Lynn, MA passed away peacefully in FL on Feb. 21, 2024, after a lengthy period of declining health. He was born on Sept. 29, 1950, son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Rauscher) Condos. He is survived by his loving family: brother Richard Condos DMD and his wife Jeannie of Wayne PA; his sister Carolyn Olson and her husband Richard of West Bridgewater MA; his nieces and nephew and their families.
Bobby was a proud and popular graduate of Lynn English HS class of ’68. He was an excellent athlete, captained the successful baseball team, played hockey and was a member of the State Champion AL Post #291 baseball team. He continued on to Springfield College (“Dos”). Many summers were spent playing softball as a member of the Lynn Rotos.
Bob spent several enjoyable years in the Philadelphia area. He met his former wife Karen, “KC”, while working with the Avis group. By 1990 he had re located to Florida where he quickly gained a new world of best friends. He enjoyed golf, boating, fishing and all the island life. Bobby Dune was a top bartender at Timbers on Sanibel for many years.
He always looked forward to trips back to family and friends in Lynn, PA, and the legendary annual outings to No. Conway, NH and Shooting Creek, NC for golf, cards and fishing with his groups of friends.
Bob loved life, saw goodness in everyone, and was kind and generous. He treated everyone equally and never had a bad word to say about anyone. If you knew him, you became his lifelong friend. This was true whether it was from his Wyoma Little League and Babe Ruth days, school years, Springfield college baseball buddies or in Florida. They all remained unwavering in their friendship, loyalty and support until his death. This meant the world to him and his family. We are truly grateful for all these amazing people who cared so much for him during his time at Life Care, especially Mike & Susie, Boomer & Suzi, and Steve & Laurie.
No matter where he lived, worked, or played, the sentiments were always the same. He was the best friend and we loved him. RIP Bobby Dune.
