Robert John Kemp's Obituary
On Sunday, September 15th, 2019, Robert John Kemp died from complications due to lung cancer. Robert was born and raised in South Africa and has resided in Fort Myers since 2003. Rob will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle to his family. Robert leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Margaret Newton Kemp, their two children Megan and Wesley, his mother Rae Kemp, his brother Donald, his sister Dalene, and his beloved South African and American nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. Robert spent the last year doing what he loved the most: fishing, golfing, and spending time with the people he loved. Rob fought a brave battle and was a warrior until the end, he will be missed every day. In the words of Shakespeare, “Moderate lamentation is the right of the dead, excessive grief the enemy to the living.”A memorial service for Robert will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 4:00pm at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church, 8570 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.Arrangements for final care have been entrusted to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
