Sending loving thoughts and prayers to my half brother Bob's family. I was very sad to hear the news of Bobby's passing. Bobby looks so very much like our dad it's not even funny. Bobby and I were not close in age, but I was always happy to see him when he came around over the years. With Sincere Sympathy, Cheri Lapointe Mason
Dear Family and Friends of Mr. Lapointe,Memories of a 7th grade student. Room 107. English 7-0. 1972-1973. "Lynn, you may only read one sports book for a book report. You already read Bobby Orr: Dynamite on Ice" "But Mr. Lapointe, Brian Piccolo: A Short Season is a biography of a person who is battling a fatal disease while continuing to play football. It doesn't have to be considered a sports book. Please let me read it." Yes, Mr. Lapointe did let me read the Brian Piccolo story and I also read Gale Sayer's I Am Third (but not for a book report). I loved going to 7th grade English class.Memories of a 30 something teacher. Room 107. 4th graders. Mid 1990s. Mr. Lapointe is my principal! And guess what? I am teaching 4th graders in the same room where he taught 7th grade English. How cool is that! It was a very snowy winter and Mr. Lapointe gave us the option of sending one teacher to supervise (and participate in) sliding on "boat sleds" on the back hill at recess time. I was the teacher. What fun! Thank you, Mr. Lapointe. Those 4th graders are in their late 20s now and they remember. Those are just two of many memories. I will be teaching 5th graders in room 101 in 2017-2018. Mr. Lapointe continues to be one of my all-time favorite teachers AND, without a doubt, my favorite principal. Most sincerely,Lynn Murray Murdock High School, Class of 1978
Dear Margaret and girls. I am saddened to hear of Bob's death. He was a fighter; a lover of life and his girls. May his memory be eternal. Katherine Camire.
Margaret, thinking of you and the girls. Uncle Bob was quite a character and will be missed. He was so supportive when I was 21 and lost my friend Jeff. He had a lovely sense of humor. Much love to you all.Kelly
To my older brother may you be in peace-Will remember the blackmails you had us do when you knew we did wrong, many a lunches and suppers were made for you by us when we came in late past curfew and you would be sitting there. Remember the water fights and the night someone actually brought the hose in from outside to use. Journey on to a better place.Your younger sisterSusan
Rest in peace brother,God blessed you with a truly wonderful life and you lived it to the fullest. I will remember you for your humor (putting mustache, goatees and devil horns on my older sisters pictures)and spirit for adventure (shark fishing on Georges Bank)and for the role model you are (Chief, Educator, Captain Grandfather and so much more)so thank you for the memories. You will not be forgotten. Little Reg
Dear Margaret, Jesa and Heather,Our hearts go out to you in your shared grief with the passing of your husband and father, Bob. Each of you has our deepest sympathy. Bob was an amazing and kind gentleman, a man of great patriotism, courage and intelligence, a man who earned the respect of so many. and will be missed and remembered always by his dear family and countless friends. He so loved you all.It was our good fortune to have met him and be in his company at so many happy occasions, both the weddings as well as the July get-togethers in Maine at Camp Ellis where we got to know and love him, and where we had such fun and many interesting and congenial conversations at the house and on the beach and at Huotâ??s. Bob enjoyed being in the middle of all his kids and their spouses and their cousins and friends, and he seemed to always have his grandchildren and his pets climbing all over him. Bob was a rugged man, but had a sweetness about him that was very charming. We will miss him, but those times we will always remember. Margaret, you and your girls will remain in our thoughts and prayers as you, with the support of your family, cope with your loss and begin to heal and find peace in your cherished memories. May Bob rest in peace.Love, Janet and Gus Beucke
I met Bob through mutual friends six years ago. It took me two seconds to realize he was special. Something about him reminded me of my Dad, I think it was his charm and sense of humor. I knew instantly that Bob was a sweet and good man. My sincere condolences to Margaret and family. May he Rest In Peace eternal. Gina Namin OOB, Me
Bob, I just pictured you in my mind, just as you was in 1959. You had that black hair you could flip to the side. If memory serves me right, you, I, and several others were always in front of the 1st Sgt. Because of our long hair. We went to the 496th as boys and came back to the states as aircraft mechanics. Those were the days. Love you buddy.
