Robert "Lippy" Lipstas' Obituary
Robert “Lippy” Lipstas , 80 passed away on July 20, 2014 with his wife Jeanne by his side in Ft. Myers after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He joins his parents Peter and Bernice Lipstas, brother Raymond Lipstas, brother and sister in law Richard and Judy Lipstas. He is also survived by his daughters Tina Disano, husband Chris and grandson Julian of Mays Landing, daughter Jeannie Dukes and husband Kevin of Linwood NJ, sister & brother in laws Carole and Pete Bombaro of Key West, Fl as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews , great nieces & great nephews . He was born July 31, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa. He grew up in Blue Anchor NJ and graduated from Overbrook High School in 1950. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates Minor Baseball League as an held the position as outfielder and pitcher until 1952 before being drafted into the Army. He served until 1956 and then returned to minors for another year. He worked in the irrigation business for over 40 years as well as owning Landscape Irrigation Professionals Inc. Upon retiring in 1998 his love for seafood, that stemmed from his parents restaurant became his passion. He will forever be known for his warm greeting “Hey Buddy!”, his famous “Bert’s” crab cakes and his love for horse racing.
