Robert Louis Martin's Obituary
Robert Louis Martin, fondly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 76. Born on October 6, 1948, in the town of Mount Clemens, Michigan, Bob lived a life full of kindness, love, laughter, and dedication, leaving behind memories that will forever warm our hearts.
Bob grew up in Algonac, Michigan and his journey later led him to Fort Myers, Florida, where he enjoyed the sunshine and warmth. A man of faith, Bob's belief in Christianity was reflected in his actions and the love he spread among family and friends.
Bob was a proud alumnus of Western Michigan University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. His career path led him to serving in the Army Reserves, working at IBM, and later finding his niche as a mortgage broker. In all his endeavors, Bob brought the same passion and dedication, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike.
To those who knew him, Bob was a beacon of kindness and loyalty. His infectious laughter, knack for making others smile, and his passion for sports (particularly University of Michigan football- M Go Blue!) were his trademarks. Whether you needed a shoulder to lean on, someone to cheer you on, or someone to talk sports with, Bob was your guy. Bob was a loving and supportive father to his daughter, Kari Lynne Martin, always ready with a word of encouragement and warm embrace.
Family and friends meant everything to Bob, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kari Lynne Martin (daughter of Bob and Patricia Freese); his sister, Pamela Wrightner; his nephew Robert Wagner; his niece Stacy Wagner; and his devoted friend, Sandra Blouse. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dolly Martin.
In honor of Bob's vibrant spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, details of which will be shared with family and friends. In the meantime, we hold onto the joy he brought into our lives and the laughter he left behind.
Bob will be dearly missed, but his spirit and the memories we cherish will live on in the stories we share and the smiles he inspired. As we remember him, let us carry forward his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love.
