Robert W Maxwell Jr's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert W. Maxwell Jr., age 79, of North Fort Myers, Florida, who peacefully departed on March 3, 2025. Born on November 11, 1945, to Robert W. Maxwell Sr. and Gwendolyn Worthington, Robert led a life full of dedication, love, and joy.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army and spent over 20 years with Lee County Electric Corporative. He later opened and operated his own memorabilia shop, Rolling Thunder Inc., before moving on to work as Warehouse Manager at Performance Air. His career concluded at Lowe’s, where he enjoyed the opportunity to meet and help new people daily, leaving a lasting impression on all those he encountered.
Outside of work, Robert (affectionately known as Bobby) had a passion for NASCAR and Drag Racing, often attending events with friends and family. He was also an avid car enthusiast, spending time working on hot rods and restoring old trucks. Above all, Robert cherished his family, relishing the time spent together, whether joking, playing games, or watching his grandchildren grow.
Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Carole Jean Bevis and Margaret Elaine Gray.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jan S. Maxwell; his five children, Molly Scott, Robert Wayne Maxwell III, Whitney Maxwell Kruszczynski, Benjamin Jack Maxwell, and Jeremy Chase Maxwell; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The Maxwell family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with Robert’s final arrangements. A service will be held at The Field of Honor at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10 AM, followed by a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Bobby’s honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Donations can be made at www.michaelfox.org.
