My brother Bob was the oldest boy out of 10 children. There were 4 boys and 6 girls. He was born in Manhattan, New York and lived in NY until age 17. He then went into the US. Navy where he spent the next 8 yrs fighting for our country. While he was there, I would write to him weekly, along with his buddies.It was fun writing back and forth sending pics and having his buddies tease me. I was young, how did I know they were hurting so bad? Some where along the years he married had 3 children of his own and was stepfather to 3 more I believe. I only saw him twice since he got out of the service. But his life changed, he lost his wife and moved here with his children. In the years that followed I got to know him better. The war had really taken a toll on him and he was different, but in the end I'm glad that I spent time with one of my favorite brothers. He moved to Florida to be close to his daughters and grandchildren and I'm so glad that they got to see the softer side of him, the Bobby that I remembered when I was young. I will always remember him and the laughs we shared. Love you Bobby….R.I.P. Your sister Maryann
