Robert S. Miller's Obituary
Robert S. Miller was born January 6, 1934 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Mary and John Miller. He passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at The Lodge at Cypress Cove in Fort Myers, FL. He is survived by his wife, Irene and their three children, Robert Miller of Fort Myers, FL, Thomas Miller of Bridgewater, NJ and Susan Miller of Hackensack, NJ; as well as two adored grandchildren, Thomas and Kaitlin Miller.
Bob spent his youth in Millington, NJ graduating from Bernardsville High School and earned a degree in chemistry from Rutgers University. Bob served as a 2nd Lieutenant in Army Signal Corps. He married Irene Holinko on August 27, 1955.
Bob was a polymer chemist who worked in research for Atlantic Richfield, and later as a research director separately at Tenneco Chemicals and Occidental Petroleum. Bob holds several patents directed to the polymer science in his name.
Bob and Irene enjoyed a home in Long Island Beach, NJ and a ski house in Greek Peak resort in upstate New York.
They moved to Estero, FL in 1999 and for 17 years Bob enjoyed the love of his life, golfing at Pelican Sound Golf and River Club. In the fall of 2016, Bob and Irene moved to Cypress Cove.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023 in the Sylvan Terrace Garden of Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cypress Cove, 10200 Cypress Cove Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908, ATTN: Melody Desilets in loving memory of Robert S. Miller.
